Widal 4x5ML - OSCAR
Widal test is an indirect serological agglutination test which is used for the diagnosis of enteric or typhoid fever. The test was developed by Greembaum and Widal in 1896.
Oscar’s Widal test detects the presence of antibodies that our body makes against salmonella bacteria in the case of being infected by Salmonella Typhi (with antigens S. Typhi O and S. Typhi H), or Salmonella Paratyphi (with antigens S. Paratyphi A and S. Paratyphi B).
If a particular antibody is present in the serum (i.e. if the patient has been infected by these antigens), it will react with a specific antigen and show visible clumping on the test card.
